Meet Robin Rome: Dental Equipment Sales Consultant

Robin Rome

Have you ever met someone who just loves what she does? We here at Martin-Taylor dentistry have, and her name is Robin Rome. Robin is a Field Sales Consultant in the dental division of The Henry Schein Corporation and when she talks about her job her eyes light up and she can’t talk fast enough. In addition to our practice, Robin sells dental equipment to 80 different dentists in southern Arizona.

Started Out as a Dental Assistant

Robin started out as a dental assistant and has also worked as an office manager. However for the past 26 years she has driven thousands of miles across the desert as a sales rep for the largest dental supplier in the world! She has an available inventory of 170,000 items! Everything a dentist needs can be purchased through Robin. From toothpaste to elaborate high tech machinery, Robin supplies top of the line options to all her doctors. “If I don’t want it used on me, I won’t sell it!”

What Does a Sales Rep Do?

The main part of Robin’s job is to introduce and educate doctors on the new products and equipment available. Dental equipment is continually improving to make the experience for the patient more comfortable, safer, and more affordable. In an effort to keep all of her doctors on the cutting edge, Robin visits each one no less than once a month to introduce them to new innovations in dentistry. In order to keep the dentists up to date, Robin herself has to participate in intense training on new products and equipment.

Advanced Dental Equipment

Robin says one of her favorite stops is Martin Taylor Dentistry in Tucson.  Because Drs. Martin and Taylor try not to refer their patients out for various services, their offices are equipped with some of the most advanced dental equipment available.  They are truly on the cutting edge of dentistry.
