Dr. Martin and Dr. Taylor are Dentists with Specialized Skills

Jane noticed a growing trend when visiting her family physician. She was being farmed out to a different specialist for each part of her body. Currently she was being seen by a hand specialist for her carpel tunnel, an ear, nose and throat doctor for a persistent ear infection, a dermatologist for skin cancer checks, a neurologist for sleep apnea, and of course her gynecologist. She joked to her husband that their medical insurance should cover gas mileage! When Jane learned from her dentist she needed to have a tooth extracted, a dental implant, and a crown, she was prepared to add a few more doctors to her list. You can imagine her surprise and delight when she discovered Dr. Taylor didn’t refer her to dental specialists for this work; everything could be done right there in the office by Dr. Taylor himself!

Dr. Martin and Dr. Taylor ARE the Specialists

Drs. Martin and Taylor can provide more services and perform more dental procedures than many other Tucson dentists for two main reasons: training and equipment. They decided that instead of referring their patients out to specialists, they would become the specialists themselves. Both doctors have extended their training and expertise beyond general dentistry to include such things as tooth extraction, bone grafting, dental implants, root canals, wisdom teeth removal, crowns, and dentures. They even have extensive training in dental sedation.

As specialists in so many areas, Drs. Martin and Taylor have equipped their office with the state of the art equipment needed to provide these services. Robin Rome, a Field Sales Consultant for The Henry Schein Corporation sells dental equipment to 80 different dentists in southern Arizona. She states that some of the most advanced dental equipment available can be found at Martin Taylor Dentistry because they provide so many services in-house for their patients.

The truth is many dentists just don’t like, or feel comfortable, performing more specialized dental services. Some of these procedures can take time, especially for a dentist who does not perform that service on a regular basis, and many dentists have found them not to be profitable because they can’t see as many patients. Drs. Martin and Taylor felt it was more valuable to offer their patients a more inclusive, quality service rather than to run their dental practice like an assembly line.
